After watching the movie (Saturday 5.30 PM show at Inox Theatre in Garuda Mall), my first response was Ra-One needs a G-One (Jeevan in Hindi). I would say it was much hyped and over ambitious. The humor in Indian cinema today is nothing but sexual innuendo. First I thought the movie could have been good for kids, but as I said earlier the first 30 minutes itself shows how much fascinated our Indian cinema is today with sexual attractions. Definitely not worth watching with the family, even though it was a sponsored show I felt it to be waste of time. To me it looked like Shekhar was a tamilian in the movie, though I don’t know tamil but I could feel that he or his dialect were close to being tamilian. Just because someone wears a lungi doesn’t mean he is a tamilian. SRK has been propagating his movie about the special effects, flying in the sky? Chinese have been doing that since ages, what’s so special about it? And remember, every Chinese is not a Jackie Chan. The only special effects (so called) were the rays and the red and blue pieces integrating and disintegrating, whats the big deal. If SRK removes the adult content (kondom kondom joke, grabbing his crotch at every opportunity, putting his hand inside the strangers breast etc.) it could be a movie kids could have enjoyed (at least they would have got to watch the video game on big screen).


Special mention of Rajni Saar’s role, to me it looks like SRK used him to attract his fan club to make profits and nothing else. Overall a waste of money, Ra-One, please No-One. There were two things that I enjoyed in the movie, one was Chamakchalo song and the other was, of course the popcorn and diet coke :) .

Very well observation Praveen. Could not have said it better. There is a very handful of sub-continental population that could afford to watch the movie as advertized to be watchful w/ family. We are no one to suggest the likes of SRK, but the observation / suggestions by Praveen are very valid and may have helped SRK to raise his top/bottomline ... my2c

Trip to Vaishno Devi

Jai kara shera wali da, bol sache darbar ke jai! This was a trip, long due for me. Last time I visited Vaishno Devi was some three years back I guess. I was making plans ever since I decided that I will be going to Delhi in Dec to spend time with my extended family. This time of the year, it’s very cold, in Delhi and even colder at Vaishno Devi and hence less people are expected to visit. Therefore, the officials keep both the caves open and hence you can have good darshan at the Bhawan as well. I reached Delhi on 17th November 2011 and started making my plans for the trip. Spoke to couple of friends who agreed to join me on the trip. But, there is a saying. You will visit Vaishno Devi shrine only if there is an invitation for you from Mata.
