Global Workforce and communication

We all know that communication plays a very important role in today's business environment. Its not just spoken language, but written as well as non-verbal communication plays equally important role. More so, when the business and their functions have gone global and you have global workforce. Today, working with diverse cultural groups is fast becoming the norm. More so, the usual face to face meetings are being replaced by virtual meetings and teleconferences. Hence, it is even more important to make sure communication is effective and the message has been understood. Whether the company is transitioning to overseas expansion, or hiring from abroad, it is becoming important for professionals to work effectively with colleagues from widely diverse cultures. This also extends to developing a strong team spirit. It is, therefore, important to connect well to foster a positive work environment and have greater levels of productivity and efficiency. Are there any specific rules t

VOLLEY-BOY

Picture for representation only; Photo by  Ellena McGuinness  on  Unsplash "Shy, short, plumpy, wheatish in complexion" is what i saw when i heard someone say "hey volley boy, go get the ball." I finished my daily dose of gym and headed straight to the volleyball court. This was our daily routine. I met some like minded people at JNI. One thing which was most common amongst us was our interest and love for volleyball. Other than that, we were all of different sizes, shapes and colours (maybe the shape was also common for most of us - round)😃. That's where i saw this person for the first time. Everybody would call him volley-boy, otherwise he was known as Prince. He was like a twelfth man in cricket, he would fetch the ball, get water etc and will get to play only when the number of players are less or somebody gets injured or moved out. I got to see the volley-boy almost everyday when i played volleyball. People would make fun of him (not all but few

WHAT'S YOUR CUP SIZE

Image
Various cup/saucer sizes at JNI, (C)praveenjangira 'Come Amit, have a seat', said Vijay. And then he asked, so what's your cup size today 😉 ? They both burst into laughter and later joined by me and Gopal. All of us had a good laugh for sometime and the discussion on the cup size continued... This  is rather strange and uncomfortable question for most men, but not at JNI. Cusp size usually refers to the women's bra size and hence i said "uncomfortable question" for most men. Amit was taken aback, so was Vijay when i posed this rather uncomfortable question to them on day one. Amit said "kya Praveen bhai aap bhi kaisee baat karte ho (what Praveen bhai, what are you talking)". Jindal Naturecure or JNI is a naturopathy centre which provides nature based remedies and natural treatment for most of the diseases. Along with the treatment, food and juices forma an integral and important part of the overall treatment. At JNI, doctors prescri

Why do I need NOC If you have moved from one city to another or your address on the current licence and address on your address proof is different, you need an NOC or No Objection Certificate from old RTO to renew your licence at the new RTO. How to Apply NOC The Central Government has made the process very simple and most of it is online. Of-course you still need to visit the old RTO physically, but the new process cuts down the time spent at RTO to a great extent. If you have completed the online process, you can finish the work physically in the RTO Within an hour or two max. Process to Get NOC Open  https://parivahan.gov.in/sarathiservice9/stateSelection.do On the home page, select the State where you want to renew your license at (My old license was from Delhi, but I am currently staying at Bangalore and hence selected Karnataka as a state on the home page) Once the new home page is open, from the left panel/side menu click on the down arrow in front of “Apply

Science Exhibition by Mount Litera Zee school - HSR Extn.

Exhibition Preview via My Lenses Mount Litera Zee School in HSR Extn. recently concluded their Annual Exhibition on 18th Feb 2017. Its been a feast to the eyes seeing so many projects being displayed by the students of the school. Not only we as parents were excited but the students were equally excited to display their work and explain the project. The entire exhibition was divided in four parts: Science club, Science Utsav, Cookery club and Eco-Club. All the projects were divided in these four parts and displayed accordingly. I was impressed with the efforts that were put in by students and teachers for the exhibition. Some of the projects were really eye openers and stood out from other projects. Congratulations to all the students and teachers who worked extra hard to make it successful. This review is to say thank you to all who made it successful. The blog is long but mostly pictures, so enjoy the glimpses of the exhibition.   Eco-Club Dreams
